CHICAGO – Police say three protesters at the NATO summit in Chicago have been charged with terrorism conspiracy stemming from allegations that they planned to make Molotov cocktails.

Chicago police Lt. Kenneth Stoppa told The Associated Press early Saturday that the three were being held on charges of conspiracy to commit terrorism, possession of an explosive or incendiary device and providing material support. He says they face a bond hearing later Saturday morning. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/05/19/3-nato-protesters-face-terror-...

Six others initially arrested have been released.

terror - The threatening of wicked men

The problem is the government is the one's who defines what terrorism is. What I mean by that is they decide who the wicked men are. They have declared themselves as the "good guys" and those who oppose them the threatening wicked men. Rule of law does not matter, those in power are making their own rules.

Today in America, a person who is standing up for Constitutional rights can and probably will be classified by this out of control government a terrorist.

Providing material support for terrorism is a provision of the USA PATRIOT Act (18 U. S. C. §2339B) which prohibits material support to groups designated as terrorists. The four types of support described are “training,” “expert advice or assistance,” “service,” and “personnel.”

I read a piece on this and the cops found glass bottles and beer making equipment and called them bomb making materials. So , IF you drink beer from longnecks (pause) YOU might be a terrorist.
Guess soon it won't matter what you do it will be construed as terrorism. The countdown to facism continues.

May 19 (Reuters) - Three protesters arrested on terrorism-related charges ahead of the NATO-summit considered targeting U.S. President Barack Obama's re-election campaign headquarters and the home of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, according to court documents released on Saturday.

The Chicago Police Department said the men were arrested on Wednesday and were charged on Friday with conspiracy to commit terrorism, providing material support for terrorism, and possession of an explosive incendiary device.

I found this concerning when it hit. It began with the beer bottles. Now there is much more information being released. Or is it misinformation? Concerning either way. Though it sounds a bit like the usual Chicago police corruption.

From what I heard of this they were in possesion of bottles, gasoline, and bandanas. As I heard it they were arrested for possesion of bomb making materials, Molotov cocktails were what they were supposedly planning on making. If this is true how many people are not in possesion of these items?

NDAA? Really? I thought that was for holding suspected foreign terrorists without charges. These people are being charged and indicted. What am I missing? I know that there's a part of me that cheers all expression of protest against this administration. But truth must prevail.

CHICAGO (AP) — Prosecutors charged two more activists Sunday with crimes tied to the two-day NATO summit, accusing one of saying he wanted to blow up a downtown Chicago bridge and a second with seeking to build pipe bombs.

But attorneys for the two men said the charges were manufactured by a pair police informants or undercover officers they know as "Mo" and "Gloves," and again accused authorities of trumping up a case to scare protesters in town for the summit.

"He is being targeted because of his beliefs," defense attorney Molly Armour said of her client, Sebastian Senakiewicz. "These charges are extremely sensational."

The Cook County State's Attorney's office charged Senakiewicz, 24, of Chicago, with falsely making a terrorist threat. Mark Neiweem, 28, of Chicago, is charged with attempted possession of explosives or incendiary devices. Both men were arrested Thursday.

Prosecutors told a judge at a Sunday court appearance that Senakiewicz, a Polish native, said he could blow up a bridge in downtown Chicago. They accused him of bragging repeatedly about having explosives and said he claimed to have hid them in a hollowed out Harry Potter book. Prosecutors said searches did not uncover explosives.

Prosecutors said Neiweem wanted to build a pipe bomb and wrote a list of ingredients required, including model rocket engines.

A Cook County judge set bond at $750,000 for Senakiewicz and $500,000 for Neiweem. Defense attorney Sarah Gelsomino said after the hearing the bond amounts were "punitively high."

The charges came a day after three other activists appeared in court and were accused of manufacturing Molotov cocktails and harboring plans to attack President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters and other targets during the NATO meeting.

The trio charged Saturday are Brian Church, 20, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Jared Chase, 24, of Keene, N.H.; and, Brent Vincent Betterly, 24, of Oakland Park, Fla. They were arrested on Wednesday and face charges of conspiracy to commit terrorism, material support for terrorism and possession of explosives.

As I said in my other post, who doesn't have the material in their homes to make a Molotov Coctail. As I see it the powers that be need to keep the sheeple beleiving that there is civil unrest, and a definate terrorist threat in order to justify agencies like TSA,DHS, and most of the other alphabet orginizations to maintain a police state. I see this as an unfortunate use of the power that they now have. We have not had a "creditable" threat since 9/11, just warnings this "could" happen or that "could" happen. Fear is the weapon of choice of terrorists, that being the case I guess you'd have to conclude they won.

Who does any of this protest stuff make us fear? A bunch of our northeastern friends and allies (nato)? young misfits wearing their latest styles and black and red bandanas? (the new generation of senatorial candidates)? Some sinister warehouse meeting of chicago street thug organisers? Nope, if the protests in Chicago was meant to scare or impress me,,,, They failed!

Sorry if you did not understand my reference to terrorists. I in no way meant to include the Chicago protesters ect. I was speaking of the need for the current Govt. to continue to strengthen the agencies I mentioned by intimidating people with there constant overzealous need for protection from foreign groups.

It's amazing how these stories evolve and then devolve. At first it was just bottles for Molotov cocktails. Then, in response to the criticism of the obvious flaws in the case, the media here in Chicago presented police officials claiming a very elaborate and credible plan to commit violent acts against civilians. Then, that fell apart and is was back to just beer bottles again.
