Well said Terry although one major factor (at least) is missing from your response. I do understand quite well Regulator's urgency in that it takes TIME, precious time to gain the trust of any group large or small, good or bad ... it also require effort... hence the urgency (over emphasis?) to find and become a part of a group because by ones self, one will not survive. For those who tarry it may be to late as we speak. It also takes time and effort to train train train and train again until one is sick of training. Yet, that self same training will save your life and your loved ones lives not to mention untold others lives. In any endeavor one will find the talkers and the doers. The doers for the most part already have made preparations and have contingency plans. Yet again, we also have those who for sundry and myriad reasons still have not made a connection with any group. Not to cry wolf or be an alarmist but this "event" can strike at any time. Things are in motion to trigger an event that will make it happen any day now. That cannot be denied any longer. The time for action in allying with a group is now. Hopefully it is still not to late and even more hopefully it is all unwarranted. Yet we all can agree upon that. IF a group is lead by ego then stay away from it. IF a group is (or talks about) illegal activities then stay away from it. This is about OUR nation, OUR state, OUR county, OUR community, OUR loved ones and OUR survival as a free people.

Well, I would have joined a group in my state except for one thing: ITS F#$#ING ILLEGAL!

Just because the constitution protects our privacy (1A), doesnt mean illegal laws dont take that away (Patriot Act). Just because the constitution protects against warantless search and seizure (4A), doesnt mean illegal laws dont take away that right (FDAA2012).

Just like those examples of illegal/unconstitutional laws, my state makes militia involvement ILLEGAL.

So yeah, Im going to wait until my house is half burnt down because anything else will put me in prison. Sorry.
