Maybe I'm a little behind the times, but learned today that Romney PERMANENTLY banned all assault-style weapons in Massachusetts when he was Governor there. Wonder what he'll do if he becomes President? Food for thought.....
Here's one of the articles I read:

Governor Mitt Romney has signed into law a permanent assault weapons ban that he says will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns.
Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.
Like the federal assault weapons ban, the state ban, put in place in 1998, was scheduled to expire in September. The new law ensures these deadly weapons, including AK-47s, UZIs and Mac-10 rifles, are permanently prohibited in Massachusetts no matter what happens on the federal level.
We are pleased to mark an important victory in the fight against crime, said Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey. The most important job of state government is ensuring public safety. Governor Romney and I are determined to do whatever it takes to stop the flood of dangerous weapons into our cities and towns and to make Massachusetts safer for law-abiding citizens.
The new law also makes a number of improvements to the current gun licensing system...

YOU can help it grow, republicans and democrats not only won't but can't. You have to do what's right for you. Any non vote will be a vote for who ever wins.
So just vote for whoever you think best or don't. Either way you'll participate to your choosing.
Permalink Reply by Northerner on May 31, 2012 at 4:04pm Judging from reports about Romney's business experience, I will not vote for Romney. His experience seems to in the area of closing down corporations, laying off workers, then turning what is left over to large competitors. The money allegedly saved? Where did it go? I would not trust him anywhere near the treasury of the U.S. Even if there is not much money in the treasury any more. He has done a lot to take from the citizens, while Gov. of Massachusetts. His health care plan, gun control, and ponzi schemes.
I will write in the name of Ron Paul and I hope all Ron Paul supporters will do the same. Do not fall for the lesser of two evils. We really don't have a choice of which evil the PTB will fix the elections to win anyway. Vote for Ron Paul, if we all do, we might upset their applecart. Also, which is worse, the devil you know or the devil you don't know?
Permalink Reply by Chancy Yardbird on May 31, 2012 at 7:29pm Hi Northerner, You must mean the report by biden claiming that Romney's experience qualifies him to be a plumber? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505245_162-57439865/biden-dismisses-rom... I hope you at least try to see what Romney really has accomplished. I hope he has and takes the opportunity to tell us his side of the story.
Good Luck to you. Take care, Stay safe, and Always be prepared for anything.
Permalink Reply by Northerner on May 31, 2012 at 10:20pm Hi Chancy,
I had not seen this report by Biden, However I feel Romney is as cold blooded as a reptile. I want to see a president elected this year that is not in it for power and money for himself. A real man that will put the people and the country first by getting government and government controls off the back of the people. I want a man in the White House for once that I can trust. I believe in Ron Paul's message that says Liberty and Freedom will allow the people to prosper. [Especially the middle class. My words.] The middle class under at least the last 5 administrations has been weighted down by so many shackles it is no wonder they are sinking. Romney is always about more restrictions and government interferance. More money for the elite bankers and Corporate monopolies. I believe another term or two of an administration like these last 5 or so, and the middle class will be no more.
Ron Paul would save the country a lot of money, just by doing away with many government agencies that are there for the sole purpose of controlling the way a supposedly free people live their lives. Romney's way of doing things has been more of the same. I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences. Don't fence me in.
Permalink Reply by Chancy Yardbird on May 31, 2012 at 10:34pm I am sorry you feel that way but can understand why you do. We all have to follow our own judgement and be true to our own convictions. You are right too, there's no telling yet what can happen between now and November. Enjoy your freedom. NO Fences!

Now lets say Romney was elected President I wounder how long it would be before the Democrats went after him on this issue? (probably faster than stink on crap)
WE HAVE THE BEST CONGRESS THAT MONEY CAN BUY!!!
Permalink Reply by Worried Grammie on June 1, 2012 at 5:44am Thank you, Sherry, for posting this link. I have said for months that the NWO traitors have covered their bases - Obama: NWO wins, we lose; Romney: NWO wins, we lose. I pray Drake is correct and that both of these thugs are removed from any power positions.
Permalink Reply by STONE COLD on June 1, 2012 at 10:01am What nobody has mentioned is concerning the SPLITTING of the LIBERTARIAN PARTY vote by writing in RON PAUL???
Don't get me wrong, I like Paul's message myself.
But a major concern for us PATRIOTS should be how to not throw out the baby with the bath water...
GARY JOHNSON is the 2012 LIBERTARIAN PARTY NOMINEE. If half of the U.S. Libertarians vote for Gary Johnson because he is on the ballot, and the other half of us turn around and write in Ron Paul, then haven't we just shot ourselves in the ass?
We need to think about these issues, discuss them and spread the word TIME IS RUNNING OUT FELLOW PATRIOTS.
Permalink Reply by usfrog on June 1, 2012 at 3:43pm All these reasons are good reasons to elect Ron Paul. Johnson may be the Libertarian candidate, but he does not have the stature of Ron Paul and is not nearly as well known.
Permalink Reply by Doug Sowle on June 2, 2012 at 4:51am While I do like Ron Paul, in a general election he has no chance of winning. Even if everyone on this and related site's did a write in all that would accomplish is to possibly insure Obama of a victory, by pulling votes from Romney. Isn't the main issue to remove King Obama?
I have lived in MA my whole life and have to say Romney was not anywhere near as bad as some who had severed as Governor here especially Mini Me Patrick (Obama clone), our current Governor. While Romney did ban some weapons just look up the MA Approve Firearms List. Half of the weapons listed can't be sold in MA due to the Attorney General's Office and their additional regulations, which is who was responsible for most of the MA gun laws from past administrations including Romney's. If you look at the approved list you will see all Glock models are listed as being compliant with MA law, yet it is impossible to buy most models if they are not used pre-ban dating back to the late eighties, early nineties. I have tried to purchase a Glock 36 recently and have been told they are available to active LEO's only. Romeney was more GOAL friendly than previous or the current administration as documented on their page.
Romney did implement Mass Health which is probably one of the best health insurance plans you could have. Pricing depends on income and is provided free to those with income's below the poverty level. The premium I pay is about three time what I paid with employer provided insurance deducted form my salary, yet the benefits provided are far superior to the plan I had. Vision and dental benefits are provided, and my copay for prescriptions is one-tenth of my employer provided insurance.
Lastly Romney declined to collect a salary as Governor, distributing the money to members of his staff, so in my opinion that does show some concern for people other than himself. Can that be said of Obama !!!
Permalink Reply by KENNETH LANGDON on June 2, 2012 at 5:07am You make a good point here but still are you not tired of voting for the less of the two evils. I am! Obama what an ass! I am also very tired of the Media picking our choices and the elite as well! What I see is blood and guts coming our way. Romney has his good points that is true but he is not my choice. I refuse to pick the lesser of the two evils. We have been doing that all our lives. No real choice you want socialism pick you Democrat you want business as usual pick Republican. Neither party is worth a dam in my mind!
