Maybe I'm a little behind the times, but learned today that Romney PERMANENTLY banned all assault-style weapons in Massachusetts when he was Governor there. Wonder what he'll do if he becomes President? Food for thought.....
Here's one of the articles I read:
Romney signs off on permanent assault weapons ban

Governor Mitt Romney has signed into law a permanent assault weapons ban that he says will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns.
Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.
Like the federal assault weapons ban, the state ban, put in place in 1998, was scheduled to expire in September. The new law ensures these deadly weapons, including AK-47s, UZIs and Mac-10 rifles, are permanently prohibited in Massachusetts no matter what happens on the federal level.
We are pleased to mark an important victory in the fight against crime, said Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey. The most important job of state government is ensuring public safety. Governor Romney and I are determined to do whatever it takes to stop the flood of dangerous weapons into our cities and towns and to make Massachusetts safer for law-abiding citizens.
The new law also makes a number of improvements to the current gun licensing system...

Permalink Reply by Annie Ruth on August 25, 2012 at 9:27pm I was but the person who going to ride with me wouldn't return my call last night and I didn't hear anything until FL announced mandatory Miami/Dade evacuations. Then he wanted to ride. It would take at least 6 hours from where I am and he's an 18 year old kid who was going to navigate for me but sometimes things just don't work out or maybe they do.
I just read on FB that the RNC was going to allow Ron Paul to speak if he met 2 conditions which were "endorse Mitt Romney" and only talk about what Romney said and Romney was to go over that with him. Of course, Dr. Paul refused that crap offer. Gary Johnson was speaking a little over 2 hours ago at the Ron Paul fest trying to sell himself but he comes off SO FAKE. Cspan will carry Ron Paul from the Dome tomorrow. It's supposed to start at 2:00 I believe, maybe 2:45. I'll be watching. AL and FL Gov's cancelled their attendance due to strong possibility of mass devastation. Georgia Gov., Satan Deal did not cancel his attendance. He's NWO all the way. I hate GA. But I do love Ron Paul. Honest Ron FOREVER!
Oh and now they are using their fear tactics saying the thing might hit the sink hole in New Orleans next to the butane well.
Permalink Reply by Rikki Heinis on August 26, 2012 at 7:49am I have a lot of respect for Dr. Paul for refusing the RNC's offer. I would expect no less from the gentleman.
I don't know a lot about Gary Johnson yet but, I have heard several people say that they are going to vote for him if Dr. Paul doesn't run as an independent. Personally, I would prefer to write Paul in but, I'll give Gary Johnson a listen. He would have to do alot of convincing to get my vote though. I'll certainly be tuned in to CSPAN today.
I, like many, am so sick and tired of all the fear they try and spread. It's much like the boy who cried wolf, at this point.
UZIs and Mac-10's are definitely NOT rifles. ;)

Permalink Reply by Nam Vet on April 27, 2012 at 8:52am Sometimes Range will be needed. Uzi's and Mac 10's will be great is close quarters but not likely when range is needed.
Whether it is AK, Machs, whatever they are still weapons and there should be a choice a free choice to whatever I want to purchase. It would be the situation with Obummer care if that passes by the supreme court they could mandate just about anything. Well consider this they ban assualt weapons, then next it will be handguns, hunting rifles, etc. Hell I could assualt you with my big bowie knife, are they going to ban that to?
Permalink Reply by LoneStar on April 14, 2012 at 9:50am That's my take on it, too. A butter knife is capable of killing, as well as cars, sledge hammers, baseball bats, etc. A weapon doesn't kill; the person using it does.

He's a reprint from GOAL newsletter:
Governor Patrick Appointment Wait - Day 1926!
If you follow our social media you probably know that we've been waiting for Governor Patrick to grant us an appointment to discuss civil rights and public safety since the day he was elected.
We've e-mailed, called, written letters, all to no avail! Recently GOAL's Executive Director Jim Wallace was attending a public hearing at the State House. Governor Patrick, as usual was pushing for more restrictions upon our rights, made his speech, then promptly left. Jim basically followed him right out the door, caught him in the hallway and introducing himself (as if Governor Patrick didn't know who he is) handed him a business card, asking for an appointment.
So, we wait, and continue to point out that our Governor really has no interest or respect for the civil rights and public safety of the law abiding, citizens of Massachusetts. We would like to remind the Governor, that his predecessor, Governor Romney would frequently meet with us, and actually listened, which is all we're asking.
Permalink Reply by ETXPatriot (NETP) on April 17, 2012 at 10:38am Romney is that same ole shill and we will get no better with him or anyone other than Ron Paul.
Voting for the lesser of 2 evils is still evil. Just because you might get Obumer out, if Romney gets in we will be doing this all over again in 4 years and everyone will still be whining and crying about the state of our Nation.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!! There is no difference between Romney, Obummer, Gingrich, or any other bought and paid for politician.
When are people going to finally get fully awake to the dog and pony show we call elections??? It is a RUSE!!!
They want you to be so disgusted with Obongo that you will gladly take Romney or some other shill thinking your going to make a difference.
Well guess what? They SELECT who you get to vote for, and they do not care about US.
Ron Paul is our only hope of any real reform and change in DC.
