Break the track of any tracked vehicle and you stop that tracked Vehicle. Nex you take out the vehicles sighting system and you cause him to shoot blindly. If you happen to be armed with something really bad in the power department, you aim for the Turret Ring. The Turret Ring is where the turret is connected to the tanks shell.
It will be hard doing all of these things. But with the correct weapons anything is possible.
A Track can be broken with something like a big piece of steel. And I mean Big. Stick it where it will ride along on the track when the track vehicle is moving forward or in reverse. It should come in contact with one of the Road Wheels and the piece of metal should not be big around, like a bowling ball. It will work much better if it is pointed on the ends. If you do not have such a piece of steel, try using a big rock.
Sure you will be taking a chance of catching a hand in the track where it goes under the Road Wheel but not a very big chance if you are fast and sure of what you are trying to do.

Yeah if they have INF it's a different deal. How big a round would it take to disable the periscopes?

Here is an excerpt from the army technology. com web site about the Bradley.

"The IBAS also has day TV and direct view optics, automatic dual target tracking, eyesafe laser rangefinder and two-axis stabilised head mirror. The thermal imaging DRS Technologies driver's vision enhancer (DVE), AN\VAS-5, uses a 320×240 uncooled ferroelectric scanning array. A combat identification system is being installed. The electronics system includes a databus with central processors and digital information displays for commander, driver and squad leader."

This vehicle is constantly being upgraded based on real world theater operations in the Gulf and other areas. Remember, we only know what they publish. You don't want to mess with these things unless you have something similar.... and the average Joe doesn't. Look at some of the video from St. Louis.

Just a idea several years ago I found a "junk microwave oven" that had a bad door interlock switch. I jumped out the switch and put a glass of water in the oven. Within seconds it was boiling! So I took apart the oven and the workings consists of a HV transformer, a magnetron microwave tube and waveguide assembly and fan, a HV capacitor. Being that this unit operates at 2.6 ghz and at 1200 watts input. around 800 watts RF. You can attach a small satellite dish as a reflector and jam communications within a 500 ft. radius. I know I did it 20 years ago by mistake and with out a reflector. Most modern data comm systems operate between 850 mhz and 5ghz. Word of advice and from experience (mine) do these experiments away from children and other people and test by remote plugins. I was able to boil water several feet away from the waveguide. With the right tuning and right size solid dish antenna you could scramble someones brain and thoughts from over 100 ft. away. ;)

Did you do the anti-gravity lifter build that was made famous by using the old microwave hv stuff? It's the tinkerers who find the big discoveries when we need em and necessity is the mother of invention.

:)

Lol, no that was not me! I had a business partner who screwed me in the video tape rental business years ago! I built this unit as a giant tape eraser and one night I drove slowly in front of the store with all the vhs and beta tapes in the windows! I has a 5kw gen-set in the truck to power the microwave eraser! It worked too good! Shorted out the computer system and tripped the alarm! Hehe they never figured it out! :p

Hard to see through cracks in glass. However something like a 308 should take out the whole thing(Sight) The tank has more then one sight. Then there will be the Range Finders to worry about. I do not know if the loader has a sighting system in the M 1.

A great Rifelman could also take out the Gunners and Commanders sighting systems. I do not know anything about the M 1 other then it is a bad weapon. Just standing close behind the exaust could cause you or your vehicle much damage. There are lots of things you can do to any tank, once you get on it and that will not be a cake walk. Take out the Grunts and your chances will improve greatly. Still not a sure thing.

Good info everyone :)
Taking on a tank or Bradley probably would depend on the situation.
I've seen 3 Abrams tanks burnt to a crisp in Baghdad. In fact my platoon provided security for a recovery team.
If Iraqis can do it I know for a fact we can.

The Iraqis seldom went after combat arms ( They prefferd to hit CSS & CS elements ) Like i posted earlier .Take out there logistic tail ,that is the vulnerable part.

Yep, well, you can dam well bet if TSHTF, we're looking at drones, APC's (both wheeled and tracked), UPV's(10Tons of Fun), and tanks.
Yep, logistic hits will hurt them, but, you can get up close and personal if the things killing your folks and you gotta take it out, it can be done. The "GoatHerdin Taliban" have proved that, like the man said. Once you stop it, they're gotta come out. The paint idea is good. Paint filled bottles thrown and busted on the visual stuff would work.
Take it from NamVet, he's our TankMan!

On the drones, I've been away for awhile, in cahoots with my friends in the tech field. We've been experimenting with the ham setups for hijacking, jamming, etc. To keep myself outta the crosshairs, I will say that the folks at the University did indeed do the deed with the drone.
Another thing was brought up, yes, you can get a RCPlane, which that is what a drone is except alot bigger, plant some 'go boom' stuff on it and go Komikizi. if you use blinding methods, they can still fly by instruments. Jamming and taking over controls are the best options as of now.
They are not speedsters....Flak will get them too. But, only if you know about them. Surface to air missles work nice also....Cheap rocket kits, a little payload, and a not-to-fancy tracking system....they're toast.

You know, a tank is a armored vehicle that can be driven at a high rate of speed (AbramsM1 and M2's), and is capable of very fast target acquisition, and pen-point accuracy with its large cannon.
It has its weaknesses, and its strenths, common sense and being careful around these things are what paramount.
Belly them out as NV said with the trenches, put a go boom device in the boogie wheels and or drive sprocket, or a large big prybar or really bog wrench, should break some stuff.
Once they can't move, you can move in to blind them. once thats done....games up....all thats left is the waiting. They can't defend themselves coming out of it....itself is its its own weapon. once stopped, its just something to hide in.

I would hesitate on a Bradley with 8 Marines firing at my ass where I wouldn't at a Abrams....
