As one who was trained to repair tanks even though they used me as a gunner instead (Go Army) you are Right on track or should I say getting the track off. Depending on the power compartment, look for the exhaust and oil,fuel stain if you can block the vents another fire ball area. Yep 4 months training to fix them and they put me in an infantry unit packing a 60 walking every where Lol......

Jerry, are commercial electric grounding rods and drift pins (oh, about a half inch in diameter and 6 to 8 feet long I guess) sufficient to clog the arteries of the track or track gear?

Food For Thought.

Any two metal rods or bar stock, even 16 to 20 penny nails of roughly the same lengths can be bent 90deg. and welded together to form road stars or quickly deployed barriers/barracade and or bollards. More and bigger makes some sense here I think.

We shouldn't underestimate what we try to stop though. Some stuff just wont stop it seems. :)

Bolo shotgun shell into the tail rotor is about the only way. http://www.firequest.com/G12-018.html

I was a designer on the AH-64 Apache, it's designed to take hits from 23mm shells and still fly. Rifle bullets would have little effect. And it can shoot back with a 30mm Chain gun.

Use terrain is what I learned.

as an x-tank commander . all you have to do is take out the drive sprooket in the rear of the tank . that is why we were thought in never turn a tank side ways during a battle . or come up over a hill and expose the bottom

Ditto but if you have a chance dig Spider holes or trenching that can allow you to "Go Underground" if Helo based FLIR is overhead , That can work even with the latest Generation FLIR technology.
