My wife and I attended our first ever State Republican Convention in Fort Worth,Texas

The Texas Republican Convention held in Fort Worth last week was many things. It was exciting, it was frustrating, it was confusing, it was educational, and it was eye opening to say the least. We will definitely be going again every chance we get.

If you have not been to a convention then you are truly missing out on how Politics and the voting process works in this country. Most of us may go to the polls at voting time and cast our votes for those we feel best holds our interests, but until you attend a convention you have no idea how much is involved with sending local representatives for your party to the National Convention where they cast their votes, along with delegates from the other states for the parties Nominees.

When we talk about Bottom Up, this is it!

First we had to attend our Caucus to get elected as delegates to go to the Convention. This is done on the county level.

At the convention, we as delegates then cast our votes for National Delegates, as well as Party positions, and Party Platform. We are there representing our Districts and those people who reside there in. We are voting for as many as 10,000 people. That is a huge responsibility that we did not take lightly.

When we arrived Thursday on the first day, we were full of excitement and apprehension not sure exactly what to expect. Three days of meetings and sessions lay before us with little knowledge of how it would all play out. We had legitimate concerns about whether or not things could get ugly and heated in the process.

The schedule was confusing to say the least and trying to figure out where we were supposed to be and when was daunting. But, we meet many wonderful people that were more than happy to share their experience and knowledge to see us through.
There were a few minor problems, some situations that seemed suspect, but nothing at all like we had expected.

In the end, it was one of the most informative and exciting times we have ever had.
There were so many wonderful people there. It seemed that we were drawn together by unseen energies that attracted us to each other. My wife and I would be outside just talking amongst ourselves and people would approach us out of the blue. Many times we would end up surrounded by as many as a dozen people, who were all Patriots and Liberty minded. Every one of them wanting to hear what we were saying about Freedom, Liberty, and our Constitutional Militias.

We were asked to not wear our RP buttons and all until after the Delegate voting to avoid any problems with the establishment Republicans. Regardless somehow, we still instinctively knew who were each other were.

Thursday afternoon, Ron Paul was the break out speaker and he is every bit as humble and down to earth as he appears on TV. We also attended his Texas Liberty Concert Thurs night where we got see and to hear Jordan Page perform. That is one talented and dedicated man.

While at the concert we were privileged to meet Antonio Buehler, the brave man who stood up against Austin police who were assaulting a woman on New Years night. He is one heck of a nice guy and a true Patriot. We stood next to each other listening to Ron Paul Speak doing our best to get the crowd fired up.

What a first day at the Convention.

Friday was lots of meetings and we didn’t get out of the convention until 11:30PM. I could write a whole discussion just on what happened that night, but it would be pointless.

Saturday we had our Congressional District meetings where we nominated and elected our National Delegates. This is when it got very interesting and exciting.
It just so happens that Wayne Paul and Donna Paul, Ron Paul’s Brother and Sister in law, are in our district and we helped to try and get them elected as National Delegates. I was able to meet and talk with them during the meeting and just received today an email from Wayne. We talked about the Militia Movement and our push to talk to our Sheriffs. Wayne was very interested, as was his wife, and he and I will be working together to get folks in his county to go speak with their sheriff in Marion County.

I can’t even begin to explain how exciting it is to know that the Paul family is on board with our cause and contacting us to help out. WOW!!

Interesting thing about being a National Delegate is that if you were elected you MUST provide a Credit Card for a deposit of $2000 for hotel deposit, and that is just the beginning. And we wonder why so many do not want to get involved. Unless your wealthy or have support you won’t be able to.

I threw my name in the hat to be nominated after a couple in our delegation told us that if either of us wanted to go and got elected, they would cover the cost. Everything they said. How great is that when people you barely know are willing to put down thousands of dollars to help get good people to the RNC.

The entire time we were there we took every opportunity to inform people about Ron Paul’s message, educated them on his Foreign Policy, and to tell them about our Militia Movement and how to get involved. There were quite a few that left there changing their minds about Ron Paul and NOT ONE person had anything negative to say about the Militia. Every single one either wanted to get involved or was willing to help bring support through their political organizations.

Again, I cannot begin to tell you how exciting it was to be around so many Patriotic people from all across our great State. When we are so used to talking to people that seem to not even care, it was a welcome change to have every single person there wanting to learn more and to get involved.

So far I haven’t seen anyone join the site yet that we spoke to. Hopefully they will get around to finding the information we gave them. I know that I am still trying to sort through all the cards and pieces of paper with people’s information on them. So they should be coming in over time.

Most of us know the quote “All that tyranny needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing”. Well I can tell you that there are a lot more people out there standing up and doing more and they are on our side. More than anything, getting to meet so many fellow patriots and knowing that the fight is long from over was truly special.

We realize that not everyone has the opportunity as we did to attend this Convention, not everyone has the time or the money, but with YOUR support and backing those of us who can, we need that more than anything. Because without the PEOPLE to stand with us, to support us, and to just remind us of WHY we do what we do it would all be for nothing.

Never stop talking to people, never stop fighting to raise awareness, because we are winning over hearts and minds. The shift is beginning where more and more people are seeking out their Militia’s. They realize that we are their Plan B should the political side fail to work.

Maybe there are few if any in your community that are ready to wake up, but there are MANY all across this great Nation who are. And when the time comes and they need their Militia to help protect them, they will remember you talking to them and know where to turn.

Stay proactive it does work, it does reach people even if you do not see it.
