Greetings, everyone!

I am most concerned with general civil unrest, possibly with a little economic turmoil behind it. The thing that I find most concerning with this scenario is that the unrest does not have to be caused by reality. If people *perceive* that we are in trouble, that perception alone can be the cause of panic and instability (think bank runs). With enough civil unrest, the government can decide that it is time to take drastic measures and then things get *really* bad. As we all know, the scariest phrase ever spoken is "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Here is a vid. about an hour long. I am not saying that it is a timeline written in concrete, however, it is something to hang current events on an see how they shake out. If this video is in the ball park we should start to see some major events world wide to happen as early as this year. Just remember, the major happenings begin just a month or so after the new president takes office next January 20th. What will be happening world wide even in the USA between now and then?

ETXPatriot: I appreciate your thinking on the matter of most likely events we'll have to do deal with.It's also good that you want to see some facts, some detailed backup. However, I think it's important that before we try to analyze any given potential event or causation, we first assign some common characteristics and measures to different events so we are comparing apples to apples, etc. A series of questions illustrates my point:

Has the event happened before, or is it unique?
Is it the result of predectable, historically confirmed actions or reactions?
Is the event determined by human action, natural environmental circustances, or a series of cascading, interrelated consequkences?

As you can see, it's critical to not only identify the what, who, when, where, and how...but also the why. A good example is human involvement, which makes any predictions of timeline, severity, or outcome much more difficult.For instance, under normal circumstances one might preduct thateconomic collapse may be prevented by utilizing the normal,logically and historically successful methods of economic restoration. However, if we fail to do the logical thing, for whaever reason or agenda, the outcome of the attmpted economic rescue is not nearly so certain.

I think if you ask the right questinos, first, the resuklt of this endeavor will be much more meaningful.

Personally, I think the worst thing that may happen is an EMP strike, but I would currently only give it a 20-30 percent chance of occurring any time soon. A collapseing economy and resultant social chaos might be almost as damaging in the the short term, but with a much better long-term
outcome. Of course, the current situation in the US and globally makes this practically a done deal in the next year.I do not believe there is anything anyone can do to stop this from happening; indeed I'm counting on it and planning accordingly. Proof? We're bombarded with it every day...what's happening now was predicted a year ago and anyone who knows anything about basic economics has seen it coming. Obama promised us transparency. He gave it to us.

No one here knows how this is going to pan out for sure!
Most of us are not ready for it either.
Too much talk very little action in getting ready.
Most of you live in the cities right now and don't have a place to go too!
We here are spread out all over the country so getting together as a major group will be next to impossible.
Most of us here want to be the one in charge. Too many chief not enough Indians. Most of us could not carry the load of a real battle. We are not in our 20/s anymore. Sure a good part of us served but can we still carry the ball? We can support but that's about it.
We need to think outside the box. What we think will happen will most likely not happen that way. They want us to help them take things over. For the greater good of course!

We need to help each other with places to go if needed. Building shelter in those places. Stocking supplies up. Plans to get out to a safe place. Think Fluid.

Kenneth,, i totally agree,, Im thinking community and Militia,, that is my primary goals! Get ready to protect infrustructure and things like that!

Here is one of the major problems I see.
I myself am having to put everything together without no help from anyone including family members. They all think I am crazy and they maybe right who knows.
If some others were to group together and each one of them handle certain parts that need to be addressed. One person can not do all of it.

Kenneth, your thoughts are hitting the mark and there are others around and near you that see things as you do. Connect with them if at all possible as you continue to analyze, plan and prepare. Your admonition to "think fluid" is also a key concept. For most of us, however, the plan to "bug out" simply is not possible or would likely lead to disaster. Abandoning ones home base shold be an action of absollute last resort for two critical reasons. First, you would either have to leave resources and people you know and need or take them with you - not easy to do and still maintain the fluidity you mentioned. Second, once you leave your home base you become a target for those who want what you have, or think you have. Most experts agree that bugging out is the least desirable opion with the greatest risk unless there's simply no other choice.

What Minuteman and others are working on is the concept of community based groups - militia, survivalists, preppers, etc., that can not only work, train, and serve the community together, but can also assist local community authorities and leaders as well. There is safety and effectiveness in numbers. The objective right now, for all of us, is to find and connect with others in one's local/county areas.

That looks pretty on target. With my friends whom I can trust locally (plus or minus 1,000 clicks) we have agreed. The ball goes up, text a pre-arranged signal to your contact group and expand the alert as needed. Contacts in turn respond with pre-planned actions. This kind of network might be a good start. That doesn't mean we quit improving it. This is the kind thing that is never completed until it is no longer needed.

They can't get everyone at once true.
will the States allow this is the other question.
we are the States Defense Force after all.
Killing us is the option they have.

So Phil as fellow OH boys I know the two of us have discussed this privately but I was wondering about something you said about having a prearranged meeting place if other plans fall through. I really wouldn't make these plans publicly of course
