IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED OUR GREAT REPUBLIC SO PROUDLY

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For all of us to have a place on this website to post our thoughts and memories of those who have made their sacrifices in services to this great country we all love.
So we never forget what it cost for us to remain free.
Please help us Honor Those Who Gave Some and Those Who Gave All.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some would say the price paid for freedom in blood is much to high, those shall surely loose it in the end..
Those who put it all on the line for us know NO COST IS TOO HIGH, even their own lives. The debt we owe them we know cannot be repaid. In our hearts and minds we carry thier legacy for all the generations of man with pride and honor. Let our voices as well as our deeds reflect the heart of the american soldier on a daily basis. This is our duty as american patriots. We need not pray for the fallen, they have secured their place, but let us send up prayers of graditude until our days end and we join them in the most high place, and let us pray for the protection of those serving, and for the healing of the wounded.
We will not ( can not) forget those who keep us free, they are part us, their blood courses through our veins. Let us carry on with the same passion for freedom and liberty as they.
Be blessed today, dont forget to pray..brother wally

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sp4c. Herda (then Pfc.) distinguished himself while serving as a grenadier with Company A. Company A was part of a battalion-size night defensive perimeter when a large enemy force initiated an attack on the friendly units. While other enemy elements provided diversionary fire and indirect weapons fire to the west, a sapper force of approximately 30 men armed with hand grenades and small charges attacked Company A's perimeter from the east. As the sappers were making a last, violent assault, 5 of them charged the position defended by Sp4c. Herda and 2 comrades, 1 of whom was wounded and lay helpless in the bottom of the foxhole. Sp4c. Herda fired at the aggressors until they were within 10 feet of his position and 1 of their grenades landed in the foxhole. He fired 1 last round from his grenade launcher, hitting 1 of the enemy soldiers in the head, and then, with no concern for his safety, Sp4c. Herda immediately covered the blast of the grenade with his body. The explosion wounded him grievously, but his selfless action prevented his 2 comrades from being seriously injured or killed and enabled the remaining defender to kill the other sappers. By his gallantry at the risk of his life in the highest traditions of the military service, Sp4c. Herda has reflected great credit on himself, his unit, and the U.S. Army.

God and the soldier alike we adore.

In times of Danger and naught before.

The danger gone, The conflict righted.

God is forgotten and the Soldierslighted.

SOMEONE HAS TO HOLD OUR COUNTRY IN THEIR HANDS.  SEND THIS ON.

THE FINAL
INSPECTION
The Soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass..

'Step forward now,Soldier ,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
 'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
 Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
 And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
 I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
 Except to calm their fears

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

It's the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us the freedom of the press.

It's the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.

It's the Soldier, not the politicians
That ensures our right to Life,
Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness..

It's the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag.
If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the Military,
Please  pray for our men and women

Who have served and are currently serving our country

And pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom....
THESE COLORS DON'T RUN

 AMEN!

As we look toward another Veterans Day, I want to recount the day I spent on one of the nations harrowing battlefields, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

What I was completely unaware of before this day was the size of the battlefield is huge and literally covered every 150 sq yds with a memorial; each with an inscription dedicated to the memory of where a person fell, the unit count of how many fell from which unit, each monument built for the ages by craftsmen hired by the men who formed commitees to see the task through, that those who were there assured for citizens of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Georgia, Ohio, New York, etc by extention this country as a whole, the legacy of liberty was marked by everything that was in their power, the memories of their fallen Brothers.
It seemed to me, that this area was always sacred ground and that liberty was never more secure but when it is driven by those who survived and still remember the sacrifice that they were willing to face but for the miraculous measure of an arc of trajectory, or an order that could not be heard, or a foolish decision, under the most dread condition but always in the course of Duty, Honor and Loyalty.
Is it any wonder our enemies attack it, when no force on earth can stand against it? God Bless all who serve.
