WRAM - We dedicate our hearts, minds and bodies to protecting our great Republic!

I have had this discussion with a few other people and i wanted to put it to you Patriots:
Would you participate in a secure system to post your intel for other Patriots to learn from?
An example:
Team A works the I-8 corridor this weekend and finds tracks along a certain wash, notes the types of shoe prints and the approx number of persons travelling. In addition, they notice a pickup truck parked oddly along an access road while on patrol.
Team B works the same area the weekend after Team A, finds tracks along the same wash, note the types of shoes prints and the approx number of persons travelling. They also notice a sedan along an access road in an odd place.
Team C works the same area two weeks after Team B. There are tracks along the same wash, and notice a beat up SUV on an access road in an odd location.
HOWEVER, Teams A, B, and C don't really talk to each other. Where the tracks in that wash the same tracks for a month OR was each finding a separate group?
A good tracker SHOULD be able to determine age of the tracks, but in our desert a track made in wet soil and hardened in the sun could look the same three days or three weeks later is left undisturbed.
Where the different cars in the same area/same spot? Maybe it is a pickup / lookout area. Was the license plate seen in other high traffic areas by other teams? Can the vehicles be spotted nearby at a farm or near the access road or are they from somewhere else?
Now, I propose that if each team posted their findings on a secure area we could answer these questions:
In my example, I know what "happened." But, in real life, without multiple data points, we can't even begin to guess, as we would only have the info from ONE team, not all three.
Looking at all three teams, lets us say that the tracks were different each time. We would know that we had found a common route currently being used. If we know the numbers, we can predict the ease of tracking and logistics of pickup. Large groups are easier to track, AND generally slower in movement. More people means more vehicles for a pick up or more trips with one vehicle to do the pick up. If the vehicles had out of state plates and where parked within a few hundred feet of each other on the same road, we can begin to feel more certain that we indeed have found an area that the smugglers use for some reason.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
We can give this data to teams going out into the field to help guide them into areas where our labors will reap the greatest rewards.
Another example:
If the same teams go out and go in the same area and repeatedly find NOTHING, we can try and get teams to search other areas, rather than search in areas with nothing there. Of course, we would periodically check back in those areas to see if it picks up activity, but as the Gold Miners say "You find gold where others have found gold." Basically this means that if no one has found anything after decent searching, the odds of you finding the "hidden mother lode" is slim.
So, if you are still reading, would any of you be interested in working together to share info?

Permalink Reply by Franz Fanon on July 26, 2012 at 12:04pm Sounds like a plan. BTW there are ways to determine the age of track/print/spoor. Also to the data base can be added the weather i.e. rain/wind/speed/direction (that have a bearing on the determination of age of track). The vagetation that is in bloom (P.S. the creasote is in bloom now after the big rains we have had in the last 2 weeks). Photos of prints can be taken and posted for comparison. Also to share data of up-coming plans so we don't have 2 groups operating in the same area and an adjacent area is left out, neglected. Will add a form to this post for track/print information, to be printed out and taken to the field to sketch in print/sole design. Maybe we CAN start working together, there are some people I work with that are very knowledable on a number of topics and might be inclined to HELP others improve their knowledge. I go out in areas during the week to collect information, so when the big group arrives we have an idea of what's hot and what's not. Now let me ask this...I also have developed lesson plans for tracking, and an extensive list of things to watch for (their tactics), what guarentee do I have that this information will be kept secure ? If someone acquires the information then they will want to post it, (do you see it coming ?), then when the CARTELS read this site they will just change their tactics, and years of careful analysis will go down the drain. I have also witnessed first hand of people (on this site), that really don't get it, then when you try to help them, they take the information and make a post, implying that it is/was their information. I really don't care that the stuff was posted per se, because it is benificial to all, but its the underhanded way they imply that they are GODS gift to operations in the desert southwest.
Permalink Reply by Franz Fanon on July 27, 2012 at 3:21pm A new type of anti-tracking boots. Not like the old black felt ones. These were cotton cloth, with the "carpet" part made into the cloth, not sown on. You say it takes two to go out...if I go by myself, does that count ?
