Comment by Lis OKDF(Admin) on June 24, 2012 at 11:56am Thank you all for joining and bringing your stories and knowledge.. This is what we are here for. We have knowledge and experience that can assist others that do not know or are having difficulties in certain area's and need to know what has worked and what hasn't. Always remember that for every forward member there are at least 7 to 10 people in the rear to help support the mission... There are always things to be done. "Always Forward"
Comment by Phillip P. Foreman on June 12, 2012 at 2:26am Presumptive Agent Orange exposure responsible for Type II diabetes. My In Country time is limited to TDY trips in and around Vietnam having participated in several milk runs via Clark RPI based C-130B aircraft delivering supplies, doing Aircraft Maintenance Evals, and personnel training related tasks. Frankly I have been under hostile fire more as a civilian than when in uniform but for some reason Charlie was ticked at those oranges we were kicking out and fired a few rounds our way. Then he decided our chow hall at Cam Ranh wasn't up to code and remodeled it for us! I think I made four trips in and nothing longer than a week or so. So I do not consider myself a combat veteran since I had no weapon in hand at any time I was under fire. As a civilian though, I shot back! I agree that everyone has something to contribute; even me. {8<{)
Just to introduce myself, I am a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran and was medically Retired in 1967 after about five months in the Great Lakes Naval Hospital. I have a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work and worked for the Department of Veterans Afairs until I retired. I continue to do Peer Counselling as I am needed. I't good to be with this group.
