Hello Friends and Patriots,
I wanted to share something and maybe make a suggestion because of something I found out. One of my best freinds is a garbage collector in Southlake. and knowing that I am a firearms enthusiast, he mentioned to me that there is a city park in Southlake that has a sign "firearms welcome" and has an outdoor target range open to the public. and I was thinking, how many gun owners in the Dallas-Fort worth area dont get to shoot as much as they should??? I would venture to guess its a lot. I mean, lets face it, if you are putting in 40+ hours in the salt mines every week, and you are driving and fighting traffic a good 10 hours a week(especially if you for instance, live in grapevine and work in burleson or something), finding the time and energy to get to the range might be a challenge. so may I suggest that if anyone has the time and inclination, maybe those of yall that live in other municipalities in the metroplex might be interested in trying to get the city to allow shooting in certain parks.
just an idea
That is an awsome idea!!!!!!
I wonder which city governments would be ameneble to the idea and which parks would be practical to implement it. The one that I think would be the most practical would be river legacy in arlington.
This is why I love to live in Texas, lets make sure that we use it safely so they dont close it down like many others
ya know mr 762, despite the fact that IMO our firearms laws could use some improvement here in the lone star state(for instance I would love to see constitutional carry and a firearms freedom act implemented here), culturally, we area very firearms loving people. One time, I took my best bud who is from cali, to a gun show at Dallas Market Hall, and he was literally shocked by the sheer variety and number of people in attendence.
well go over there and see if its true that they will let u shoot or not
well Mr Grubbs, thats not a bad idea. dont know when the next time Im going back to the metroplex is, as Ive just got myself 2 jobs here in Abilene. SO it might be awhile before I can do that in person. but tomorrow I am free for awhile, and will be happy to find out for sure via phone or E-mail and I will copy and past the city of southlakes repsonse to me.
Do you have more specific directions? I'm just down the road and would like to check it out.
no I dont at the moment, buddy............Ive never been to southlake, but next time my buddy calls me I will be sure and ask him
