Sounds like a good idea, however I think the first main hurdle is getting the leadership of the state militia in order. Right now I am pretty sure the position is open. And I do not think anyone is jumping at the bit for the position .

Also I think whoever wants it should be vetted as well as fully understands what he/she is getting into.

This has been a difficult task when I thought it would be much easier. I know some guys that prep and perform some militia style training. However, they want to remain "below the radar" and I can't get them to join a site!

I agree with your comment regarding state leadership.

I know that all too well I am leader of a prepper group and it takes alot of work to get people to come out, and then to get them to step up to the plate and take responsibly for some of the group. I think to help fiqure out the best person(s) to lead we as a group need to really talk about:

What is the primary goal of our militia - do we want to be a force just in case the govt falls or do we want to be more like the militias of old and assist local govt in community outreach and betterment

Do we want one command group over the entire state or do we want to break the state up due to how spread out we are?

What requirement will we put on our members?

How to get and raise funds?

etc.. etc..

Just my 2 cents, Small independent groups with a common goal work more effeciently than a central leader. Something like a council of small group leaders to make larger decions. If you organize like a republic in peace time it rolls into a good structure in an emergecy situation. Small decentralized leadership is our best bet since a member like me has different needs and issues than someone in a different part of the state.
Again I'm the FNG here so this is just my 2 cents

Aaron,, you 2 cents are worth dollars! County to county is the way to go,, state orgs have to many troubles to deal with as far as ego battles you name it,, they never work! You also hit the most important thing and that is that each county has its own needs and knows those needs better than someone who knows nothing about that counties needs that are miles away in another county! There is nothing wrong with sharing a central name but each county should have its own leadership to provide for the counties peoples!

What you describe is common in the ones who are preping,
In the past Fed;s ahdve infiltrated other organizations to where all are wanting to stay below the radar.
This is a bad thing it prevents any real organizatoin of the Maltia also,
Fed's know this and Organization is critical to the success of any event or action needed..
FED's also are labeling all who oppose their agendas as Terrorists and traitors, Actually our Federal Government and Political leaders are the traitors and should be charged with treason for the damage they are deiberately doing tothis great nation.. <>Raven-Man<>

Hi Bogan, I have just joined the NC membership, My brother and I are in Gaston County. We listen to the Drake calls regularly and Sunday's call was really confusing. IMO, as I am very confused, there is such disorganization, no one knows exactly just what "time to take action" means. My personal suggestion to everyone would be to contact and register with their local militia, as we are all ordinary citizens with "no authority" individually and I would think that each militia would have a relationship with their local sheriff or know which sheriff's are on the side of the constitution. Most, if they are like me, are lost as to what to do to do anything. So this is my first step. I do plan on calling in on the next Drake call and submitting my suggestion for everyone to at least contact their local militia and let them know they are aware of what is going on and giving notification info. I would be more than willing to help manage a "notification list" if needed. Please respond if there is anything I can assist with, I am available 24/7, I will ck back here often for your response.

From my viewpoint it's not uncommon for there to be confusion in these matters. We grow up taught to expect our federal government to protect us only to find out that we're slowly being sold out! Our founding fathers knew this day would come! I encourage you and others to read The 5,000 Year Leap. It provides much needed insight into where we started and what this Republic should be.

Donald Boxley on the WRAM Facebook page has been pursuing an outstanding idea that was effective in Florida in 1994. The County Commissioners in one County declared every citizen in that County a member of the local militia. I have been ineffectivley pursuing setting up militias by County and then by Township. Also trying to get the Sherrif involved at least to the point of knowing what we're doing and to let him know that he has back up if he ever needs it.

My suggestion is press forward with your plans and always be prepared.

I am new to the group but was just following along. From the previous posts it doesn't seem like there is much organization beyond this site. I think you would need some kind of way to better organize everyone by region and then decide on some kind of leadership format. Like I said I am new and this may have already have been done. Just an idea

www.ncmilitia.org provides structure and all the answers one would need for organization and leadership. If you would not want to be involved with them you could use them as a model to follow.

Hey Patriots,

I am in the Greenville NC area and would willing to head up a small group in this area. I am not brand new to the site but I rarely visit it. I made a decision this past week due to the UN Arms treaty BullSh**, to get on and try to stay as connected as I can.

If any one is in this area drop me a message and lets to try get some basic communication,managerial and logisitcal info set up.

Open to any suggestion or advise as well.

I am fairly new to the site, I also am in the Meclenberg County area, and McDowell County Mountain area.
What are your thoughts about a group. I have considered a group in my areas, but find that most interested or into a group are staying below the radar,
