Too true, I'm not trying to be a leader by any means. But I'll share what knowledge and help i can provide to organize the folks around me. Check out the backpacking trip thread by the way

I'm inexperienced. I should have specified that I want to learn, and I'm hoping to join a group that is dedicated to hardcore training. In that case, someone else would have to tell me what they have in mind, I suppose. I'm still finding my way around in the dark, looking for people that know what they're doing, but really wanting to move fast.

It wouldn't hurt to start some serious PT and beginning making a plan. Most of my skills come from hunting, surviving, and some military traing from family and brothers. A good leader will require capable and dedicated followers... one must learn to follow before he can lead.

Definitely. I don't know if I'm leadership material, just willing to serve in any capacity. The best leader serves alongside first. My PT is in full swing, zeroing in my rifles (though I'm having difficulties with the iron sights on my AR). Will be hunting soon, as you know. I want to soak and pass on all the knowledge I can. Every citizen needs to be prepared for what's coming, I think.

PeachMan what kind of trouble are you having with the ARs' iron sights? I have two
+ an M-4 so ask away.

Just not familiar enough with it. I went to work on it today, and found that the vertical is what needs adjustment. It was consistently dead center, 3 inches low at 25-ish yards, and about 4.5-5 inches low at 40-50-ish yards. Now I just need to figure out how many clicks work on my flip-up sites... Ruger SR556 is the brand/model.

An M-4? Man, am I jealous.

PeachMan try adjusting your front sight, to move the strike of the bullet up take your front sight down. Try one notch if you have a five notch front sight. If you have a four notch front sight go down one and make ajustments with your elivation knob. P.S. get you a carry handle with a rear sight built in if you hve a flat top reciever. Those flip sights are a pain to mess with.
