I wear a hearing aid & yes I do know what you are talking about. Some say it is craziness but I do know what I hear.

I've not heard anything strange in my area (San Antonio, TX). I have seen a lot of videos on youtube about odd noises being heard around the globe though and have never stopped to consider that it could be used to modify behavior. That is a very interesting theory and I would say that it is possible if not likely.

I have to admit, I am severely sleep deprived which has been causing aggitation however, I think I can pin point the cause of that... my 1 mth old daughter! Haha.

I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in the sandbox & as a result I have a seizure disorder. However, since getting my hearing aid & hearing those noises, I have been totally seizure free for a long time now. Who knows.

Well, at least there is a positive outcome from this sound for you James, I never thought of that possibility of a healing therapy. Sorry about your injury but thankful for your service for freedom and liberty.

I do have tinnitus in one ear however, as this report states, it is more of a high-pitched ringing sound. I can't say that I have ever heard anything like this "hum". Fascinating report though!

do you have a wind farm in your vicinity? or any high voltage power lines ? i have heard a hum associated with both.

There are no wind farms in my area and no high voltage power lines, that I am aware of. I'm going to check into that though, thanks! I would do most anything to get rid of this annoying ringing!

There isn't anything out of the usual that could be causing it out my way or near some of the other "hearers" that I know.... we're all rural, nearest HV transmission is about 10 miles, no wind turbines, mining, heavy industry.
I know what you're talking about.
This varies in low freq. pitch, oscillating, somewhat directional, usually not during the day. You could put on shooters muffs and it doesn't matter.
Now here is food for thought... this thing was really loud the last few nights, we had really bad weather, a million without power at one point.

Strange that the noise would increase with the weather. I wonder if HAARP has been known to create such sounds?

There are basically two possibilities, natural or manmade; intentional or not intentional. It appears that generating audible sound from inaudible sources is a physical fact. We may be causing it unintentionally with our current technology. It may also come from extraterrestrial causes(i.e. from solar activity and our atmosphere)where the conditions for audible sound generation occur naturally. It is also possible that man-made sources could be causing it; i.e. military projects from countries with advanced projects using you as a guinea pig.
At any rate, it is possible to get audible sound from inaudible sources.
