Help with growing corn please

I have never had any luck with corn, worms ALWAYS get the ears. I really want to learn how to grow corn, can someone give me some tips on growing corn?!

Just got a pack of "Sugar Pearl" Hybrid seeds from Burpee. I wanted Silver Queen but didn't see any at the store. Somebody said to use nitrogen around the plants? I've been gardening for years, but have never had any luck with corn. How can I get a good crop (small) and not have worms eat em?
