When I first arrived back in Texas in 1979, I worked for a company for three years, then the oil industry fell apart. I survived for two years working on contract before getting hired at Rice University. My suggestion, depending on your experience, is to check out the contract employment outfits in Texas. A lot of companies when times are rough hire people but don't want to commit to the long haul. The contract outfits handle all taxes etc so you really work for them. I've always thought of it as a tool rental business, except it's a people rental agency. Good luck and if you come, Welcome to the Republic of Texas.

T.G., I'm not sure if Perry got the message that we all were sending him over thepast year but I have been watching him for the past few months and he gives the impression that he heard what we were saying, like you, I have no problem in letting him know that we were serious when we reminded him that his job is to protect the interest of the people of Texas. I guess there is always a chance that he will do what he says now that he seems to know what the people expect of him.
None of us should ever be afraid to pick up the phone and call his office or write a letter and remind him that we are watching him.

Dayan Inikhaton - thank you. I got alot of info up with just doing searches, but it would help if we had more/better info. Kathi, one of our members, lives in Brownsville. She's very concerned - especially since the media isn't picking up on this very well. At least FOX finally covered a little bit of it.
