The intelligent warrior knows his or her limitations.  Let’s face it, none of us are the person we used to be and in combat we would possibly be more of a hindrance than a help.  That said, we still have some things the younger warriors don’t.  We have time and experience.  The decisive battle will be fought in November 2012.  How we of the Gray-Haired Brigade use our time for the next 23 months can determine the outcome of that battle, and win the war for our country.  Our fight is not against Democrats or Republicans, it is “We the People” battling the elite in Washington.  Our founders fought against an aristocracy.  Our battle is against a bureaucracy.  For all practical purposes they are one and the same.

The pen is mightier than the sword.  We have the time and the experience to use the pen very effectively.  Only 64% of the eligible voters actually voted in 2008.  Many of them have already regretted their vote.  Our job is to increase the turnout of patriots who will vote out the elitist in Washington and replace them freedom loving, God fearing, patriots.  We need to replace all of the sleazy politicians with the type of statesmen who founded this great nation.  Right now most of the politicians are running scared as a result of the vote in 2010.  If they haven’t seen the light, let’s make them feel the heat.  We have the power of the ballot box.  Only if that fails must we resort to the cartridge box.

Steps to take:

1.       Write letters to congressmen and congresswomen.  If they are doing a good job tell them and support them.  If not let them know that come 2013 they are going to be unemployed.  Mail the letter to your representative, but also mail a copy to your local newspaper to be included in the Letters to the Editor section.  One letter doesn’t get their attention but one letter read by thousands or even hundreds of thousands in the newspaper gets their instant attention.  They place close attention to Letters to the Editor.  It works, I know.

2.       Send E-mails.  Every congressman has a website.  On that website is a place where you can send them an e-mail.  Flood their e-mail boxes.  The more the better.

3.       Make phone calls.  All of the congressmen have a local office so it doesn’t cost anything to call their office.  Find out which bills are coming up and be sure they hear the voice of the people.

4.       Check out those running for office and give full support to those who are trying to preserve our Constitutional Republic.

5.       Register voters.  All election offices will give you a stack of voter registration forms.  In 1980 we went door to door for Ronald Reagan months before the election.  It is unbelievable how many true patriots are not registered to vote, especially some of the older ones.  Pick your neighborhoods and register only those who are likely to vote for the conservative.  Don’t forget nursing homes and retirement centers.  These are a treasure trove of unregistered voters.

6.       Help those who can’t get to the polls obtain an absentee ballot, help them mark it and mail it for them.  Request for absentee ballots are readily available upon request.

7.       The liberals have any number of organizations working for them.  We need to be sure that the conservatives have the same size army working for them.

8.       Find out the core beliefs of every Presidential candidate.  I personally like Congressman Mike Spence.  Check out a recent speech he made on the Presidency and the Constitution on the following link: http://www.alandcalledamerica.com/the-presidency-the-constitution-and-the-future-of-the-republic.  I think you will see why I like him.

9.       Get involved with local Tea Party and other protest groups.  Believe me, the politicians don’t write them off or ridicule them any more after 2010.

10.   Pray for America every day.  Our founders did and God answered their prayers.  He will answer ours as well.  Read God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

This is good for openers.  Add your own ideas and make the group aware of them.  For the sake of our children and grandchildren, this is a battle we must win, and with God’s help, we will win.    We have the pens and we have the time.  Let’s don’t waste either.

I, for one, am still going to the field like I did in the 80s and 90s when I worked with the Signal Corps. I was never one for crawling through the jungle with a bayonet in my teeth. Even during the first decade of my military experience in the 70s I was an Air Force avionics technician. We stayed back at the base and sent the officers out to fight. I now teach my troops how to communicate with ham radios. I may be one of the more fortunate ones in that I can still do the same job I did before as a communications instructor.
I appreciate your service and support. This is a fight in which we will bring together many people and many skills. Together we are going to take our country back from the Muslem in the White House and his supporters.
Somehow even at 66 come 12/19/2010 I do not think of myself as being old. that is until I attempt to do something simple that once was no problem.
Still in the light of day I know that when you get the older generation down they are dead. And we are not yet dead.
We are the glue that will hold the group of youngsters together, hopefully. We have seen the hard times, some more hard then others and with the knowledge we hold in the recesses of our minds we might be a big help to those same young people that will be doing most of the fighting, should we be involved in a way of Obama's making.
We see movies of war and we see shows on the TV that depicts was like it is not. No glory but plenty of blood and crying out in pain. Those involved in war, in battles will not likely find anything that they can see as being fun.
My war was Vietnam and it was not a time of Glory. Like all wars people who go to fight will never be completely the same as before they reported to serve in the military.
I do not envey anyone that thinks that war is a worthy cause. War is often needed but it will never be fun---not if those doing the fighting are normal.
'One Last Fight.' How many of our young will grow up after just one fight. How many will actually see what war is all about with just one fight under their belt? The term, "War is Hell," is as true and anything anyone fighting will ever see or do. Some will wake up in the middle of night thinking that they are still in the war, still fighting the same battles that they fought years before. War will be a part of their lives no matter how long they might live into the future. They won;t be able to get rid of the thoughts that keeps coming to their minds. They will look back on the Training periods called Bootcamp or Basic Training and realise that those were the best times they remember.
But one thing I will say about war. It will force a boy into manhood real fast.
For those of us that are older then dirt, we need to tell anyone young that will listen the things that we have learned over the years. Things that might help them make it through the battles and return home.
Every war has something that we picked up on. Maybe it was 'Hit and Run tactics. Maybe it was how to detect a Roadside Bomb. Maybe it would be 'How to stop a supply truck loaded with supplies---ammo and weapons.
Whatever we know that will likely help someone gain a foothold, we need to tell them.
I have listed my home phone number hoping that I could get with the youth around Las Vegas, NV but no one has gotten in tough with me as of late.
They will need all the help they can get because they won't be likely with the US Army or the Marines. They will likely be facing Obama's Civilian Army and Obama's Civilian Army I predict to be ACORN, The New Black Panthers, Union Hard asses, Excons, Illegal's and a long list of bad people.
Did I mention the Muslims? I suggest they buy up plenty of warm clothes that will blend into the background. Plenty of warm socks and a sewing kit with plenty of strong string to make repairs to those warm items of wear. Their fight will more closely resemble the Fighting at Valley Forge then any battles in Europe or Asia.
THey had better learn how to make do with the things that they can find, which weeds thet can safely eat. First Aid will also be up to them because they won't likely find anything close to a Medic or an Aid Station.
And what is worse is when they see someone that they knew before the war and they are about ready to pull the trigger, killing that same person.
Your discription is very accurate and enlightening. I hope it never comes to this. Nevertheless, as Thomas Paine said, "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." I also feel that should it come to this, the military will stand with the people. I know that when I was serving I would never have turned my gun on the American people. I don't think that order would ever be given, and I doubt it would be obeyed if it was given. Americans are well armed and will fight to the death. Also, many of us have combat training, whereas Obama's army will be mostly a bunch of untrained thugs. I don't know a marine 60 years old who could not take down a Black Panther in 30 seconds or less.
If I'm not mistaken but I beleave Comrade (slick Willey ) Clinton used American troops at Waco, Tx. Choopers,Tanks and such. Please correct me if I am wrong.  Jim.
The situation at Waco was not a case of ordinary people being rounded up at the whelm of a tyrrant.  They were after one man who refused to surrender and the situation spun out of control. I agree that it could have been handled much better but it was a cult and possibly a threat to the children.  I think Clinton and Reno were dead wrong, but I don't think that can be compared to having our military take over a town for no reason at all.

I wish it were true about the military not turning on the American
people, but it has already happened in New Orleans after hurricane
Katrina. They were ordered to go in and unconstitutionally disarm
the people. They just blindly obeyed, except for a few, that told
thier commanders they weren,t going to turn on the American people.

I may be wrong...I thought most of that was done by Local Police...

At the age of 64 I'm right their with you. My war was Vietnam also. I was in the USMC. I  also

spent  20yr in the AZ. National Guard. Iv've been waiting for quite awhile for the Malitia to

get going here. It's pretty obvious the US government isn't going to do much about the situation

here in the south west. The bad thing about it is that it is spreading like a cancer throught

our land. I am willing to do what I can. I pray the patriots of this country will wake up before

it is too late.

Thanks for your service, it was some Marines that I finally ran into after getting shot down north of Da Nang. Went for a joy ride in a chopper and some NVA got lucky.
James, you found out that the Joy went down with the chopper. It was a learning experance for you I am sure. Lesson learned makes us wiser. We won't have to do them twice. And we can tell others not to do them once. Then we can leave it up to them.
I have just written an email to my congressman, polite but firm, asking him to stop Obama's back door amnesty for illegal aliens. The courts have started dismissing deportation procedings against them by the thousands. It looks like this will be up to us as well now.
