“The silver haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness." Proverbs 16:31
Yes, we lived those days.
We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. However, we are the ones who won World War II and fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote the Pledge of Allegiance by heart, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We know the words to the Star Spangle Banner, America, and America the Beautiful. From time to time you may see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in the history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Comment by Leon Myers on August 8, 2012 at 6:20am I had to correct myself I am 64 now. We only get older by our actions.
Comment by Phillip P. Foreman on August 8, 2012 at 2:40am In line with my efforts to build a support activity I find that I am in need of about a dozen folk who can and listen to radio channel scanners covering the Sheriff, Highway Patrol and Emergency Responders in the South Eastern region of Ohio, specifically Athens County. Looking for volunteers. You folk in other states/areas who can still handle a rocking chair might think on volunteering for such or possibly HAM operation, CB base , etc. {8<{)
Comment by Thomas Patton on July 14, 2012 at 4:20am I understand that Phil. I spent a lot of years in the Army and Army Reserves. My final tour was in Iraq '03. Support structure is very important as well as keeping those troops trained up. Thats something the US did not do a very good job of prior to Iraq.
Cruachan!
Comment by Phillip P. Foreman on July 13, 2012 at 7:52pm Thanks for the input Thomas. I just happen to have the answer to your question for the active duty soldier; seven support bodies are required for every soldier to keep him equipped, fed, clothed, clean, shaven, trained and provided something to complain about. {8<{)
Comment by Thomas Patton on July 13, 2012 at 5:33pm Phil is quite correct. There are many old soldires out there who have the history to teach the young pups the way to get things done. How much information and expierence can you pass on? How many of you have skills to build or repair? Any with animal husbandry? Farming? Medical? Think about it, how many support persons are needed to equip, cloth, feed a fighting man?
Cruachan!
Comment by Phillip P. Foreman on July 13, 2012 at 5:25pm Thanks George for the kind words. It was refreshing to discover that I can still bob and weave! Still need to lose some middle but the arms and legs are five years younger than when I last checked. {8<{)

Good morning to y'all--Well, I have decided to try and get active here at WRAM again. This "active" thing will be over the whole course of my life, too. I am lifting weights and slinging kettlebells again, though at very reduced levels--for now,…Continue

The intelligent warrior knows his or her limitations. Let’s face it, none of us are the person we used to be and in combat we would possibly be more of a hindrance than a help. That said, we still have some things the younger warriors don’t. We…Continue
