An AK my friend. I have an AR15 two Mini14s A SKS and a Springfield M1A match rifle, but my pair of AKs don't need the TLC it takes to keep the others firing in harsh conditions.

Thanks you guys, I do appreciate your input I have debating between the ar-15 and the AK. I just plan to use for target practice until otherwise needed to defend. I always liked my issues m-4 but it always seemed to jam up or lose adjustment. Appreciate you all. Thanks for helping me decide :)

Medic2629 I agree with you..I have several Norinco's, and would have had more, but Clinton stopped their import. My favorite is the NHM91...the one with a little longer barrel..and I also have the MAK90 shorter, and also is a fine weapon.
zuesdog: Pissing down the barrel to wash out the salts...LOL, just adding more salt...and mine are chrome lined..LOL

All AKs go boom everytime you pull the trigger from the cheapest to the best. Yugos are really good and Saigas are really good. The rest they are just really good. Read stories of skinnies pissing down the barrel to wash the salts out of them. Others talk of AKs in Africa that have been in use for ten years or more and have never been cleaned. They may be the most durable thing on earth with moving parts.

Norinco makes the best in an AK, in my opinion, Romania and Czech s are not bad, but mechanically they have proven to stand the test of time and harsh conditions. Again, it depends on ehat your anticipated environment is. Hard round to be clearing a house or building with, unless your using something frangible to reduce over penetration and injuring a team member.
