Don't waste time beating your chest and talking about what you should do, what you want to do, or what you might do...Just do it. Preparation is your number one priority right now. Stock up on food, ammunition, medical supplies and make sure you have a way to store large amounts of water on short notice.
Never take anything at face value, there is no 'unbiased opinions' or 'nuetral points of view', everyone has a motive, a price, and a breaking point. Don't trust a thing you see, read, or hear on the internet unless you have ways of vetting and verifying said information. Knowledge is a weapon, you can use it against the enemy, or it can be turned against you.
You are at the front lines of a war that does not have front lines. There are no civillians. There are only two things you can do. Resist, or collaborate. This is where you make that choice.
