A simple way around the promotion problem is to assign a Special Duty Identifier to the MOS and make these assignments for a specific period of time or as part of promotion pilot program for specific grades say from O3 to O4 a tour of a year as an UAV operator is required. This medal horse hockey is the height of ignorance.{8<{(

What will happen when some wis kid probally 14 to 16 yrs old hacks into these systems and overides them? That is what is scary!! Already been proven fesible by some colledge kids in Houston.

When will Our leaders learn??

A fun fact about that is is that the government often does hire hackers to fix problems like that  and do other dirty work for example they way Our Government and Israel allegedly  used hackers for the Stuxnet Virus that hindered Iran's Nuclear plants. 

  There are pros and cons to drones and other unmanned weapons and advanced weapons  in general,

you save more lives with better weapons which is  why 10 year old wars death rates stay at over 4000 instead of 4,000,000 .

 If a revolution does happen some of it will probably be fought in cyber space.

It is extremeley sad when the military must develop awards for a specific class of officer so that they can be promoted. You must remember that these are rated officers flying these UAV's and since they are not piloting manned aerial vehicles in a war zone, they have no method to obtain the awards and decorations that they require for future promotions, unless the military invents something for them. Thus the medals described here. This is a sad commentary on our military system.
