The practice of quoting out of context, sometimes referred to as "contextomy" or "quote mining", is a logical fallacy and a type of false attribution in which a passage is removed from its surrounding matter in such a way as to distort its intended meaning.

Arguments based on this fallacy typically take two forms. As a straw man argument, which is frequently found in politics, it involves quoting an opponent out of context in order to misrepresent their position (typically to make it seem more simplistic or extreme) in order to make it easier to refute. As an appeal to authority, it involves quoting an authority on the subject out of context, in order to misrepresent that authority as supporting some position.

Now then, several days ago I posted a Word document and some people did exactly this. You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem. From my perspective, you're part of the problem. Either learn how to read something IN context, they way it is supposed to be read, or get off my friends list. With friends like that, I don't need any enemies. If you're going to be an opponent of reason and logic, we've got nothing in common. This is also the definition of a Liberal. Apparently some of you have been drinking the Liberal Kool-Aid.

Free speech is limited on my personal blog, Lea. It is my personal property. No, the one that I removed was totally OFF topic, and it is my right. It is no different than someone using my profile page on Facebook for things I do not approve of. My profile page is MY PROFILE PAGE. And since it is MY BLOG, I can limit who can comment on it. Don't believe me, then stay tuned. I'm going to click on "Edit" and change it to "only friends can comment on the blog."  How do ya like them apples?

You can also upload it as a file on any Facebook group. Just click on the Files tab and follow the prompts. You can also upload it on any blog on any Ning network by simply clicking on the file upload icon, which looks like a paper clip. To send it to all your friends HERE on WRAM, just click on the 'Share' link at the bottom of the blog to select all your friends then click 'Send.'

I plan to send the link of this page - to my list AND to convert to PDF then upload these to my own activist pages.

Regulator:I guess I didn't make clear my quandary. I know how to attach documents to e-mail messages but don't know how to upload said document to this site for others to download if they desired. Any suggestions?

Uploading isn't a problem, simply click on the attachments in your personal e-mail. If you have saved it to your desktop, it won't be a problem to find it. Next, you simply click on the file wherever you saved it, AFTER clicking on "Attach". Give it a few seconds to upload and send it.

I downloaded this document from Drake's site, copied & pasted into my Mac document program and then saved it as a pdf. If I could find out how to upload it, I'd send it along in that format.
