Ok so I am a guitar pickin, piano key plucnking, drum smashing, voice tickeling fool. I try to use my art to make money ( did I say try ?). Some folks would say why on Gods good greem earth would you be interested in this type of thing. Militias are not all you artsie guys liberals , stand inline with the conservative bashing idiots out in Hollywood and Nashville , or for heavens sake New york.
The thing is a person can be an artist and be a sewer cleaner, mechanic like i was for 16 years or carpenter , or any of the labor intensive jobs available to all men and women.
Nobody has said anyuthing like that here , everyone has been very kind and welcoming which issomething I am extremely grateful for . Our nation has had artists of all kinds in the formation of our Republic , they were employed to put up all those Christian sculptures and statues that adorn the supreme court house and a lot of other federal buildings as well as state buildings such as the numerous art work involved with the Ten Commandments that hung on many of the walls in our nations court houses , that th athiest say gives them headaches when they see it .
God used people in the Jewshish clans who were gifted in the arts to build the ornate things the high priests would use in the tabernacle, they crafted the ARC OF THE COVENANT very beautifully with and according to the directions given them by God himself.
God himself is very artistic himself. Thats why he made women as beautiful as he did because he instilled in us men his creativeness and the ability to appreciate his creation and all it wonders, thus in turn to appreciate him.
All art serves a purpose , usually its the expression of the self and how the self interprets its surroundings and imagined surroundings as well. It can be used for the purposes of good as well as evil . Alot of propaganda uses beautiful art so as to manipulate the minds of the people who view it or even sing it . One such example is the song "My Sweet lord" performed by The beatles. When I first heard this song I was a naive teenager Had no idea that at the end of the song you would be singing a hindu chant with the singers. Or the Rap songs of this day that are so chocked full of violence and womenizer and racial hate hate material, that byu the time you are through listeninhg to that yours and who ever listens , moral compass will have been steered slightly less than true north by it.
I use my music to give people another alternative then whats available out there . And hopefully its use will not encourage people to go into uncontrolable rages and tantrums :).
One of my sonsg uses a word that to some may be reflective of cursing. But when taken in context it makes quite sense that its there . It is mild in its usage compared to what is being marketed as music today.
I am conservative in my stance towards women, men and relationships as a whole , i am respectful of my nation and its citizens . But when the time calls for art to reflect a dissatisfaction with the governing of this country , I dont hesitate to point that out via my art. I like many artists have a lot to say and nothing to say , I am no different . Some of my music contains no words at all , so the interpretation of the mood or the mood of the artist is left to the listener of my music.
But my priorities will always be God Country and the citizens of this wonderful nation.
