The sun erupted today with a X1.4 flare and a CME. The CME will hit the earth on Saturday around 1000 UTC. Spaceweather.com has increased the chances of X-Class flares to 35% for the next couple of days.

NOAA is reporting that this storm / CME created solar radiation storms of S1 and radio blackouts of R3. NOAA is expecting these levels to decrease to S1 and R1 respectfully in the next 24 hours.

It dose not look like we will see much of an effect here on Earth, except for some communication and GPS disruptions. So we must be prepared for that.
