Here's one of the problems, as I see it.

The practice of quoting out of context, sometimes referred to as "contextomy" or "quote mining," is a logical fallacy and a type of false attribution in which a passage is removed from its surrounding matter in such a way as to distort its intended meaning.

Arguments based on this fallacy typically take two forms. As a straw man argument, which is frequently found in politics, it involves quoting an opponent out of context in order to misrepresent their position (typically to make it seem more simplistic or extreme) in order to make it easier to refute. As an appeal to authority, it involves quoting an authority on the subject out of context, in order to misrepresent that authority as supporting some position.

This kind of bull has happened to me within the so-called patriot community BY other so-called "patriots." When we begin to kow-tow to the left, they have effectively silenced the opposition. I refuse to be one of those who will "go silently into the night" and never return.

I'm one of those who refuse to give in to political correctness at the cost of our freedom. I couldn't give a rat's ass who I offend, whether it be a Liberal or a so-called "patriot" with no cojones who is afraid of offending somebody. Their problem is that they've imbibed a little too much of the Liberal politically correct Kool-Aid.

Dan, voting for what I believe in is not a vote for obama. I have surrendered for 24 years to the promises of a better candidate next time. I am voting for the man I believe will do what is best for this country, not for who I think might win. Voting for obama is like voting for obama. I will not be intimidated by this lame "you are voting for obama" routine. I hear it many times every day from peple who are so afraid of obama they refuse to see where mitty will take them. I will vote for the best man for the job not against the worst man for the job. mitty won't be that much better, if any better, than obama. If all the people I hear from that don't trust or like mitty would vote for John Dummett we could beat obama. Read the article again, very slowly, and think about what I wrote. It is about faith over fear, principle over fear, and freedom over fear.

Let me play devil advacate for a min. I have been voting since I was 20 and am now 52. I would have started early but had to wake up first. Anyway I have many time voted for whom I thought was the right person based on his Moral thoughts, his beliefs in this great country and other traits that were in line with mine. Only to go down in flames, so tell me how is that helping anyone if you vote for someone you know darn well isn't going to win and then see the same person elected that is killing our country. I don't want to vote for Romney but I deffenately don't want obama reelected either. So is not a vote for anyone other than Romney just like voting for obama?

John, my sentiments exactly. That is why I like John Dummett. He doesn't have the moneya nd name recognition but he has the values this country needs. Sadly, it seems we are in the minority because I am getting slammed all over the place for this article. It is posted on 25 sites like this and most don't like my perspective. It is anyone but obama, and I wrote about the dnagers of that a few months ago.
