WRAM - We dedicate our hearts, minds and bodies to protecting our great Republic!
This has been hashed over many times, but I feel that it's important to revisit it from time to time so that people are reminded of what we are here for.
WRAM, Well Regulated American Militias is a site dedicated to bringing people together in Defense of our Nation. It provides a tool for people to communicate in a central location with those across the country and around the world to get organized and meet others in their areas. The goal is to give the Militias a place on the WWW to stay connected.
It is not meant to be a Social Club, but understandably when people of similar mind sets get together, well. It's good to be able to talk about things that are happening with those that view the world through similar eyes. Getting to vent frustrations with those who share common beliefs.
BUT, what we have to remember is that the discussions are specific for a reason. There are even multiple categories so that the various topics can be sorted through by the members. The purpose is to organize information in a way so that you can search a topic in the Forum (discussions) and find what ever you might like to research. Whether that is Survival, Weapons, Equipment, Canning, Gardening, Medicine, you name it we probably got it.
The site is funded through some private donations from the members, but primarily out of the Pocket of the Site Owner and Creator Rick Light aka Minuteman. Every bit of space that is used costs money.
So what am I getting at here, there are too many comments to discussions that are just social comments and usually way off topic of the original discussion subject.
Too many people are using this like Facebook and not what it was meant for.
I do not want to be rude, but people let's be reasonable here keep it to the point and leave the socializing for the Social Sites. That is not what we are on here for.
We are standing at the precipice of major events unfolding in our time and we need to keep on track here.
We lose almost as many members as we get because they get tired of wading through the fodder, they get fed up with trying to navigate a cluttered site, or they get tired of being attacked when they post their opinions.
Important information is lost to page after page of one liner comments and half page posts that have NOTHING to do with the discussion topic.
So, PLEASE, think before you post a comment.
Ask yourself these simple questions before you click on "Add Reply";
Does it ADD to the discussion?
Does it provide additional information to the subject matter?
Are there links or references that need to be added to the reply so that the information can be checked out by others?
(I can help anyone who has trouble with posting links.)
Was it as polite as it could be to keep the discussion civil and not divisive?
Am I posting just to get attention for myself?
This will go a long way towards keeping the site organized and easy to navigate. It will help to keep information up to date and verified so that people are getting the FACTS.
We are here to get people organized and prepared. If you want to chat about something then do just as I have here.
Write it on your BLOG.
